We received exciting news on July 7th. Barbara Manzi, President and CEO of Manzi Metals was invited to the White House to meet President Obama on July 11th and be a part of a delegation of business executives including the President and CEO of Rolls-Royce North America, Mr. Jim Guyette and senior White House officials, including Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor Isabella Casillas Guzman, National Economic Council Director Jeff Zients and Small Business Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet to participate in industry discussions of small businesses and their partnerships with large prime contractors. The President greeted Barbara and later announced a new initiative called “SupplierPay“. This is an initiative to encourage large government contractors to pay their small business suppliers quickly. This program is based on the successful government, “Quick Pay Initiative” program that within the private sector will strengthen small businesses by increasing their working capital so they can grow their business and hire more workers.
